Main feature: Cerakote DARK GREY colour like the real steel in the 70s.
Viper Tech found its roots in producing OEM M4a1 GBB (WA system) for Inokatsu in the beginning. By a fortunate chance and helping hands from fellow airsoft enthusiasts, Viper Tech officially began manufacturing complete gas blowback airsoft rifles with great passion. Viper Tech adheres to the highest industrial standard in its manufacturing process following actual steps of real firearm production procedures such as: forging of upper & lower receivers, followed by CNC milling process and finally finishing with phosphate coating or anodized surface treatment. It is Viper Tech's mission to produce the most realistic AR rifle series from inside out (relative to real steel) within legal limits catering to the high expectations of the most passionate airsoft enthusiasts.
All the AR-15, M4, SR, 416 Viper tech body are 6061 aluminium 'Forged CNC' bodies.
What does a forged AR-15 mean?
A forged AR15 upper & lower is essentially a block of high grade aluminum that is super heated and then hammered into the shape of an blank upper & lower receiver (still like a solid block in silver). The forging process hammers the molecules of the aluminum together, thus making it incredibly strong.
After that, the blank forged receiver block will be put into a CNC Milling machine.
This is then CNC milled to spec. Generally, if you do some research on real steel AR15/ M4, all of the lowers are aluminium, preferably 7075. 7075 has a higher level of zinc in the alloy which gives it a higher tensile than say a 6061 alloy. The nice lowers are 7075 with a T6 tempering (Colt, KAC H&K etc), this further increases the tensile strength.
But since airsoft doesn't need to use the hardest material 7075, so Viper tech chose 6061 forged body. In fact many other cheaper real steel AR15 brand use 6061 in USA. DPMS uses 6061 on the 308 uppers and lowers. SunDevil lowers are 6061-t651, CMMG 308 receivers are also 6061.
Although I said airsoft doesn't need the hardest material, but I am sure the Viper tech 6061 forged body plus their steel outer barrel have created the sturdiest Ar15/M4 GBB platform in the airsoft world. And I am talking about it is very sturdy and reliable out of the box. You can drop it from 3rd floor high, drive it over and it will still survive and shoot.
The upper and lower body has 'Hard Anodising' black finish. Not many airsoft brand has such a matt black finish, very close to real steel.
The internal are full steel upgrade, the hammer rarely breaks. All you need is a good heavy weight BB, like 0.28g or above.

This viper tech XM177E2 uses M16A1 body with specific XM177E2 marking like real steel, the sound moderator (aka flash hider) also has marking like real steel
11.5" steel barrel in steel with marking
Slim plastic handguard, glossy finish, 70-90's era correct but no heat shield inside.
16mm Steel Bolt & nozzle, very hard kick on the blowback (16mm Bolt great for EB co2 mag, you can also upgrade to 18mm nozzle Bolt, the kick is even stronger, but not ideal for EB co2 mag)
All the internal and external body parts are in steel, that includes the hammer, sear, auto sear, selector, bolt release, fire pin, forward assist, dust cover, pins, sights.
2023 & later version has black aluminium firepin block.
Copper inner barrel, not very accurate. So CRW can provide an option to upgrade with 6.02mm Maple leaf steel inner barrel.
Power: Copper inner barrel 0.9 Joules low power nozzle (around 305FPS) using WE 2X gas, if upgraded to Maple leaf 6.02mm roughly 1 joules 328fps
Comes with 1 gas 20rd magazine made by Viper tech.
